“Over the weekend we introduced the Giving Manger to Cedar. The concept: you spend the season giving back and serving others, and each time you do you place a piece of straw in the manger, then on Christmas all the good deeds make a soft bed for Jesus. Two things, 1) Cedar is still a little young to grasp all of this, but she gets to put a piece of straw in after helping her grandfather feed the pets, or helping her grandmother put up Christmas decorations. Zac and I put pieces in too which is a great way for us to check our hearts when we are serving one another. And 2) I think the baby Jesus is too precious to keep in the box until Christmas so he’s already out and I get to hear her say “Baby Deesus!” all day long as she makes and remakes his bed and changes his diaper." - @jocelyne.west
We began with the inspiration and passion to share this tradition we loved so much in our own homes, with other families. We never could have imagined that our story, and simple samples made in our homes could grow to inspire so many people! Thank you again!
