“We live directly across from an elementary school. Today, we have had so much fun passing out hot cocoa + marshmallows to the parents, students & neighbors that stopped by our little table. I’ve had the desire to hand out drinks and/or treats to the parents that start lining up in the pickup line all around our block on the weekdays, for probably a year. However, I have never taken that idea and made it a reality. Naturally, today has been super busy and I felt the urge to cancel our little plan (even though it was super simple.) I’m so thankful that with the help of dearest friends, we did it! We followed through. Why is that so difficult? Together, we all helped make homemade hot cocoa and truly had a blast talking with everyone who came by. In fact, Dreamer is currently still outside at the table passing out marshmallows to anyone that will take them because we finally ran out of hot chocolate. We were inspired to do this by @thegivingmanger.
If you want a book to encourage you and your kids to intentionally find ways to serve each other and others, it’s one to get! I share all of this because I know there are so many of you that have amazing ideas to serve and love people around you! I encourage you to do them even when it feels difficult!
